Students awarded Netbook computers Taylor Automotive program at Imagination Station reaches finale

May 18, 2011 - PRLog -- As presenting sponsor of the Forces and Motion educational program, Taylor Automotive Family, in conjunction with The Blade, “adopted” roughly 2,000 Toledo Public School students and teachers for a concentrated program to improve science performance. The program provided field trips to the science center for all 5th grade students at TPS. Additionally, twenty (20) science festivals and sixty (60) Workshops on Wheels (WOWs) were awarded to 5th grade classrooms and schools in TPS to help drive home the concepts learned during their field trips.

TPS 5th grade teachers were each asked to nominate one student that demonstrated science achievement throughout the school year, addressing the following criteria: improvement in academic performance, attitude toward learning, overcoming adversity, commitment to excellence, and leadership in class/modeling of good behavior/respect for adults and peers.

Nominations were reviewed by Imagination Station leadership and during a brief awards ceremony at the celebration, Steve Taylor of Taylor Automotive will present the top 5 students with a brand new Netbook computer. Their respective teachers will also receive a $100 gasoline card courtesy of Taylor Automotive. Three runners-up will receive a family membership to Imagination Station.

Imagination Station, located on the downtown Toledo riverfront, is a science center dedicated to delivering science and technology based programming to youth and their families throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
