The fiction work is a sequel to her first novel, “Color Me Jazzmyne.” On May 18, 2011 Mrs. Thomas' was all smiles as she received the coveted notification that My Father's Colors was recognized by the well respected Sankofa Literary Society Review for being one of the top 100 books during the first quarter of 2011. It is an award the many authors dream about. For Mrs. Thomas, it has once again become a reality.

Thomas’s novels follow the journey of Naya Monà, a woman who struggles to find herself as she regretfully discovers her father’s past and searches for her daughter.
