May 20, 2011 - PRLog -- (ARIZONA) – More than 1,300 Arizona apartment industry leaders gathered in downtown Phoenix to honor the industry’s finest leaders and best multifamily communities at the Arizona Multihousing Association's annual Tribute Awards on May 12th.  The Tribute Awards honors apartment industry staff, managers and maintenance staff in the state’s leading apartment communities and management firms.  In addition, the Arizona Multifamily Association gives thousands of hours to local charities around the state, including UMOM in Phoenix, New Beginnings for Women and Children in Tucson, and many others.  The organization and its members raise more than $100,000 for local nonprofits.  Its volunteers lead projects within their apartment communities as well, bringing education, safety and health programs to Arizona families.

“AMA members are making a major impact on our communities around the State.  Their charitable works and the investment they make in building strong multifamily communities are honored by the AMA Tribute Awards each year,” said Tom Simplot, CEO of the Arizona Multihousing Association.  “In addition, we are honoring two legislators who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to protect Arizona families living in apartments.  Their work on pest control issues and taxes will give Arizonans additional relief from unfair taxes and keep families safer in their homes.”

AMA’s 2,000+ members around the State represent more than 200,000 apartment units, over half of all rentals in Arizona.  Large and small apartment operators, and associate members who support their operations, work together to guide regulation and reform, participate in continuing education and take advantage of networking opportunities offered through the AMA.
