Urban Hoops to hold Father's Day Basketball Summer Camp June 18 at Lee County YMCA

May 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Urban Hoops is holding a Father’s Day Basketball Summer Camp for fathers and sons from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on June 18 at the Lee County YMCA, 1360 Royal Palm Square Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919. Guest mentors will be retired NBA star Corey Crowder and Representative Matthew “Matt” Caldwell of the Florida House of Representatives.

The event is sponsored by the Lee County YMCA, Smoothie King, and Audi Jaguar Land Rover Fort Myers. The program will feature several contests and breakout sessions with the guest speakers. According to Urban Hoops Director, James Long, “Area fathers and sons will be able to come out and have a fun day focusing their relationship in a positive and supportive environment.” Reservations are encouraged, as space is limited. Tickets are $30 in advance at http://www.leecountyymca.org or $40 at the door.  

Urban Hoops is a new, nonprofit organization. Its comprehensive basketball, educational and mentoring programs develop the entire child through basketball—from character building, to academics and achievement, and right on to potentially becoming the best basketball player of all time.
