Wimmer John Deere Dealers 250 Preview

May 23, 2011 - PRLog -- NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver Scott Wimmer, currently 20th in the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver Points standings, will climb aboard the #70 Foretravel Chevrolet Impala for ML Motorsports this weekend for the John Deere Dealers 250 at Iowa Speedway.

“I’m really excited that the team wanted me in their car for this weekend. I’ve only run one Nationwide event at Iowa so far and had a good run going there a few seasons ago before my engine let go, so I’m looking to get some good results this weekend”, Wimmer continues; “I want to thank everyone at ML for the opportunity, I love short tracks and have had strong results with them in my career, this is one I’d love to check off my list this weekend.” For Wimmer the “list” consists of 217 starts in the Nationwide Series in his career that has led to an impressive six wins, 29 Top-5 finishes, 74 Top-10’s and a career average finish of 15th.

For the ML Motorsports team, started in 1998 out of Warsaw, Indiana by Mary Louise Miller, the team is equally interested in strong results as they currently stand 25th in Team Owner Points on the season, and are looking to stay within the Top-30 that guarantees entry into the field for each round. The team is coming off a ninth place finish their last time out at Richmond.
