May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- L'Osteria di Marechiaro will be performed at the Teatro di San Carlo next month, allowing people to rediscover the piece by Giovanni Paisiello.

Running from June 11th to 14th, the show offers an enchanting mixture of magical scenery, varied music and a thoroughly Italian sense of action and fun.

The piece features a libretto by Francesco Cerlone and will be directed by Roberta De Simone, with Donato Renzetti conducting the Teatro di San Carlo Orchestra.

While Paisiello is widely regarded as one of the most successful Italian composers of the pre-Rossini period, l'Osteria di Marechiaro is a rare gem.

It is a light-hearted comedy that was first performed in Naples in 1768.

Monica Bacelli, Marina Comparato and Mina Yamazaki are among the stars set to appear in this version of the opera.

Standard tickets start from €30 (£26.50), but there are concessions available.

The show is being staged on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, beginning at 19:30 local time each day.
