By: CGL Publicist Executives from Namco, the creator of Pac-Man, will also be part of the show, with Pac-Man appearing as a special guest on the show. CGL spokesperson, Walter Day, will be presenting Pac-Man with a graphic representation of the "star" that is planned for Pac-Man in Ottumwa's forthcoming Video Game Sidewalk of Fame. The CGL will be interviewed by NBC-TV (Chicago) regarding their efforts to support many initiatives which promote the culture and history of gaming. Among the guests appearing on the show are: Walter Day, Ben Gold, TriForce, Billy Mitchell, Todd Rogers, and Steve Sanders. As well-known spokespersons for the worldwide gaming community, they will talk about the many grassroots efforts now being created to raise donations for the IVGHOF, which is in the process of raising funds to construct a modern, state-of-the- "We are pleased by the grass roots efforts to support the IVGHOF, especially events like this weekend's GameDay, which is a three-day fundraiser organized by Liz Bolinger and Patrick Scott Patterson,” Day said. “This event, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend (May 27-30), will unite gamers throughout the world who wish to go for video game "high scores" and get donors to pledge money to the IVGHOF.” GameDay can be found on the Internet at http://www.GameDayShow.com. Several members of the CGL plan to participate in the GameDay event and see this as a fun-filled way to bring together classic and modern gamers in a fundraiser that should inspire industry leaders support the IVGHOF. The CGL will also talk about a group of Ottumwa High School Students, who are a part of the Ottumwa High School Gaming Community, to further their fundraising efforts as well. The group of students plan to clean up Main Street in Ottumwa, picking up litter and making the street nicer. In return, the students are asking for a donation per bag or a flat donation. All proceeds go to the IVGHOF. While the students intend to clean up much of Ottumwa's downtown area, they plan to focus on East Main Street, which is considered the historic "video game district," where gaming historians believe competitive video game playing first found its roots in 1982. “It’s great to see the high school students getting involved, not only raising money for the IVGHOF, but also to help beautify the community,” Gold said. # # # About the Council of Gaming Legends The Council of Gaming Legends, established April 2011, mission is to promote and preserve the heritage and culture of gaming and to connect Arcade, Console and PC gamers in a common initiative.
