Volusia County Chiropractor Supports American Cancer Society with Free Chair Massage

May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Complete Wellness Center of Orange City supported American Cancer Society Relay for Life on May 20 – 21, 2011 at Victoria Park in Deland, Florida.  The wellness center offered free chair massage, free water and free dried fruit to walkers, supporters and survivors.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

At Relay For Life, teams of people camp out at Victoria Park and take turns walking around Victoria Lake.  Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.  Because cancer never sleeps, Relay For Life is an overnight event.

Each year, more than 3.5 million people in more than 5,000 communities in the United States, along with additional communities in 19 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.

For the last three years, Dr. Kim Reddick’s office, Complete Wellness Center of Orange City has supported Relay For Life.  Usually, they just offer free chair massage for a donation for American Cancer Society.

“This year we decided to do a little more by offering free water and dried fruit,” said Reddick.

“Maybe next year, we’ll have our own team to walk,” commented Lisa, who is the receptionist for Complete Wellness Center of Orange City.  

Lisa and Sharon, the Massage Therapist, manned the booth at Relay For Life.  They attended the event from Opening Ceremony to the Luminaria Ceremony at 9 PM.

“This is an excellent way to support our community and support the fight against cancer,” said Sharon Guest, LMT.

Guest has been a Massage Therapist since 2004 and has been with Complete Wellness Center for 3 years.
