Follow on Google News | Boyz II Men joins Colorado Symphony June 5Experience Boyz II Men mega-hits "End of the Road," "On Bended Knee," "I'll Make Love to You" and much more in magical night with Colorado Symphony
This is a rare orchestral collaboration for Boyz II Men members Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, and the 79-member Colorado Symphony, which has a successful track record of filling concert halls with artists you wouldn't normally see alongside a full orchestra. Fans can expect Boyz II Men to seamlessly blend their unforgettable melodies and and a capella harmonies with the lush, majestic sounds of the orchestra, led by crowd-favorite, resident conductor Scott O'Neil. June 5 in Denver is a chance to experience a richer, more vibrant perspective of Boyz II Men songs such as "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday," "A Song for Mama" and "One Sweet Day" - and re-discover music that has stood the test of time. Two decades into their career, Boyz II Men still resonates with audiences; including their original fans who have grown up and teens who weren't even born when the group first struck Billboard chart gold. It's no surprise that the group, which ranks fourth behind Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Mariah Carey with a total of 50 weeks spent on top of Billboard magazine's Hot 100 singles chart, still plays to sold-out audiences at venues ranging from the Bamboozle punk rock festival to major arenas. Boyz II Men's Denver concert marks a continuing trend for the Colorado Symphony, which in recent seasons has carved out a reputation as the go-to destination for pop/rock artists who want to grow their concert styles. But unlike traditional pops orchestra collaborations, the Colorado Symphony isn't a "back-up band." The orchestra is an equal partner with artists, carving out a new musical relationship that has paid off with higher ticket sales and attracting new audiences on the Denver music scene. The Colorado Symphony has more collaborations in store for July 2011, this time performing at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Shows include the symphony orchestra debut of multiple Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan, as well as Broadway powerhouse Idina Menzel of "Wicked" and "Glee" fame, and an unforgettable night with pop/rock legends Chicago. Tickets for Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks concerts are currently on sale. In its 2011/12 season, the Colorado Symphony takes its collaborative series to the new country genre, with the symphony orchestra debut of Grammy®-nominated country star David Nail ("Turning Home"). They'll also partner with the Los Angeles culturemashers Ozomatli , plus Denver's iconic indie band DeVotchKa (featured on the soundtrack to "Little Miss Sunshine"), and the quintessentially American alternative rock band Guster in the upcoming season. Tickets for the 2011/12 shows go on sale in August.
