Calling All Working Class K9 Heroes!

June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Friday, June 24, marks the 13th annual celebration of Pet Sitters International’s Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay®). Businesses around the globe will open their doors to employees’ furry, four-legged best friends for just one day to recognize the great companions dogs make and promote their adoption. Event creator, Pet Sitters International (PSI), plans to celebrate a special group of canines this year—dogs who work every day to improve the lives of others.

This year PSI ’s TYDTWDay campaign will recognize working dogs with its 2011 Working Class K9 Hero™ contest.

Owners of all working dogs are encouraged to enter and share the story of how their dogs are making an impact in their communities. All types of working dogs—from police, search and rescue, therapy, guide dogs and others—are eligible.

“Over the last 13 years since the inaugural celebration of TYDTWDay, the role that dogs play in our lives—at home and work—has grown dramatically,” said Patti Moran, PSI president. “As we celebrate dogs during this year’s event, we are pleased to also recognize those dogs who work daily to make our world a better and safer place.”

PSI and a panel of judges will select three nominated working dogs to recognize during this year’s TYDTWDay campaign. The selected dogs will be featured on the PSI and TYDTWDay Web sites and social media channels.
