June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- MIAMI – South Florida business professionals from BNI Biscayne Connection, a chapter of BNI Miami-Dade, recently volunteered their time with Neat Stuff, Inc., a local non-profit organization that provides free new clothing and school uniforms to abused, neglected, abandoned, and other at-risk children. The chapter’s participation was part of BNI Miami-Dade’s Charitable Giving Initiative that launched early this year.

Founded in 1995, Neat Stuff serves more than 5,000 children and distributes more than $1 million worth of new clothes, school uniforms and accessories annually. BNI members assisted with a shipment of new donations.

“In less than 3 hours, the BNI members sorted, assembled and organized over 700 pairs of pants and 500 polo tops,” said Franklin Monjarrez, Executive Director of Neat Stuff. “These uniforms will be enjoyed by at-risk children from our community. Our staff was very impressed by their dedication, and contagious drive to serve those in need.”

When children arrive at Neat Stuff for their “free shopping experience,” they are able to select new clothing, contemporary shoes and other accessories. It is often the first opportunity these children have had to wear new clothing.

BNI Biscayne Connections members who volunteered their time were Rick Kaplan with US Office Solutions; Jodi Mitchell with Streamline Voice & Data; Lynette Janac with South Florida Luxury Guide; Bill Wallace with Rich Bragassa and Associates; Glen Sommer with Glenn S. Sommer, P.L.; Nellie Hernandez with Great Florida Bank; Carlos Gaviria with Metro1 Properties; Jesse Stolow with Total Window, Inc.; Peter Leighton with Best Care; and Todd Paton with Paton Internet Marketing.

BNI Biscayne Connections meets at The Bankers Club in downtown Miami every Wednesday at 7:00 am.

Neat Stuff is located at 2624 NW 21st Terrace in Miami. For more information, please visit www.neatstuffhelpskids.org or call 305-638-5878.
