Colorado Symphony Offers Full Summer Seasonings Experience

Best of Beethoven, John Williams and Russian Masters featured in three concert series; new alfresco pre-concert dining option serves up perfect summer evenings
 
June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Summer comes alive at Boettcher Concert Hall with "Summer Seasonings," the Colorado Symphony's new three concert series featuring the masterworks of Beethoven, John Williams and Russian Masters such as Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. "Summer Seasonings" at Boettcher Concert Hall Presented by PCL is a fresh, new offering that combines beautiful summer evenings with wonderful Colorado Symphony concerts featuring a fascinating exploration of Beethoven's masterworks, music from award-winning film scores such as Star Wars and Harry Potter, and audience favorites of the great Russian Masters. Scheduled for three successive Friday nights, tickets for "Summer Seasonings" concerts currently start from $15 per concert and are on sale now.

"Summer Seasonings" also offers pre-concert fine dining on the Galleria just outside the Boettcher Concert Hall doors and the chance to enjoy dinner while watching the setting sun, with live music to top off the mood. Each Friday evening features a different yet equally delicious menu offering. Live outdoor musical performances and bar service will begin at 5:00 p.m. each evening, and dinner service will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Patrons will need to arrive for dinner by 5:15 p.m. to be seated. The dining option is $50 per person and includes a three-course meal and a glass of champagne, coffee or tea. BEST OF BEETHOVEN: FRIDAY, JULY 8, 2011 AT 7:30 P.M.

Back by popular demand, this very first "Inside the Score" concert was a huge hit among symphony patrons! See it again, or for the first time, as resident conductor Scott O'Neil serves up Beethoven's greatest delicacies, including the Leonore Overture No. 3, the famous opening of his Fifth Symphony, and the Moonlight Sonata.

Strawberry Fields Salad
Fresh crisp mixed greens, sliced strawberries, blackberries and raspberries with crumbled goat cheese, spiced pecans and cornbread croutons, strawberry and white balsamic vinaigrette

Wildflower Honey and Balsamic Chicken
French cut breast of chicken marinated with wild flower honey and balsamic vinegar presented with stone fruit salsa, tri-color cous cous pilaf and fresh seasonal vegetables

Orange Glazed Salmon
Citrus and chive marinated salmon presented with orange cranberry glaze, wild rice pilaf and fresh vegetable medley

Tiramisu Parfait
Espresso, mascarpone, chocolate and lady fingers

Roasted corn, charred onions, tomatoes, cilantro, cumin scented croutons and cojita cheese tossed with fresh crisp romaine, served with chile lime vinaigrette

Tarragon Citrus Chicken
Pan seared tarragon and citrus marinated breast of chicken presented with pistachio and cheese polenta cake, grilled apricot and sweet onion chutney and tarragon lemon jus

Grilled Center Cut Pork Loin Chop
Sweet and spicy honey chipotle barbeque sauce whipped sweet potatoes, haricot verts with shaved red onion and crisp bacon

Lemon Meringue Tartlet
Ginger blueberry compote, toasted meringue and raspberry coulis



RUSSIAN MASTERPIECES: FRIDAY, JULY 22, 2011 AT 7:30 P.M.

Russian Masters take center stage in this concert featuring popular works such Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" Fantasy Overture. Resident conductor Scott O'Neil and the Colorado Symphony treat you to all your favorites, including Prokofiev's "Montagues and Capulets" (also known as "Dance of the Knights"), Shostakovich's "Festive Overture" in A Major, Op. 96, and Rimsky-Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bumblebee" - the orchestral interlude written for his opera, "The Tale of Tsar Saltan."

Baby Spinach Salad
Fresh baby spinach tossed with marinated red and yellow teardrop tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, hardboiled eggs, candied pecans and Craisins®, served with mustard vinaigrette

Grilled Flat Iron Steak
Brandied green peppercorn demi glace, parmesan cheese au gratin potatoes, grilled vegetable medley
OR
Tuscan Breast of Chicken
Fresh herb and garlic marinated breast of chicken presented over wild mushroom and grilled artichoke ragu, mashed red potatoes and sautéed yellow squash and zucchini

Toffee & Caramel Bread Pudding
Seasonal berries, white chocolate sauce and whipped cream



Each evening also features the following vegetarian option:
