Looking after the family business

June 8, 2011 - PRLog -- To assist family businesses to grow and be sustainable over generations the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship at Coventry University has organised a series of breakfast advice sessions in Coventry & Warwickshire, which focus on the following topics:

Be Entrepreneurial in your Family Business, this session helps you to be sustainable over generations, by focusing on you, the entrepreneurial leader, how you can develop yourself to assist growth in your family business, manage and structure your finances along with other resources for growth and help you to make sure growth strategies are in line with family capabilities and expectations.

Growing Family Wealth, is aimed at supporting family businesses to manage their real family wealth more effectively, which means combining financial terms, with human and intellectual capital to make sure that it carries on building a legacy over generations. The session helps to assist with succession planning, communication with the family and family retreats.

Competing on the Global Market as a Family Business, the recent changes of the international landscape are providing new challenges to all companies. This session explores the ways that family businesses can participate on the international market without sacrificing their family business culture. Topics will include current trends in the international markets, where to look for opportunities and how to structure the family business to exploit these opportunities.

Presenters:

The workshop presenters will be Dr. Gideon Maas, Director of the Institute for Applied Entrepreneurship, and Phil Ewing, Director at Harrison Beale and Owen Chartered Accountants and Financial Advisors. Both have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of family businesses.
