What to do if you Stain your Futon

Futons are a great addition to any teenager’s bedroom, your kids will be the envy of their friends with a funky futon sofa that can also double up as a guest bed.

Whereas with traditional sofas or fabric chairs when you spill something or tear the material it becomes a professional repair job undertaken by an upholsterer, well not so with a futon. Damaged or worn out futons can be given a new lease of life for very little cost.

Loose Futon Covers

Ideal if you have spilled something on your futon or you just fancy a change of colour, perhaps you have decorated your room and your old faithful futon is looking a bit drab. Loose futon covers fit easily over the top of your existing mattress and are a much cheaper option to replacing the whole mattress.

Same benefits as loose futon covers but these types of covers are shaped to suit particular futon ranges, again a cost effective way to replace or freshen up that tired old futon, usually available in a diverse array of fabrics and colours.

If your futon has sustained heavier damage or is starting to loose it’s comfort appeal then it’s highly likely that you need a replacement mattress, another plus point for the futon is the cost of a replacement futon mattress is around half the price of a standard bed one and considerably cheaper than having an upholsterer out to re-foam and recover your sofa seats.
