Currently, it is one of the leading causes of death, as a major cause of strokes and heart attacks. By 2050, the CDC, 1 in 3 U.S. adults will suffer from diabetes spending over twice the amount in medical expenses than non-sufferers.  Dan Hurly, author of “Diabetes Rising” joins us to discuss how to manage diabetes, its causes, and potential new cures on Wriggling in the Middle, North Ohio’s WHBC 1480 Talk Radio Show on Monday, July 11 at 9:10 am (Eastern Time).

Dan Hurley is the author of the newly release book “Diabetes Rising” where he examines why both type 1 and type 2 diabetes is rising and how to stop it. Dan is a regular contributor to the The New York Times. He has also written for Discover, Wired and Neurology Today. His previous book, Natural Causes, was hailed as a “lively debut” in Publishers Weekly, received a starred review in Booklist, and was the subject of a two-part series on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. He has been senior writer at the Medical Tribune and contributing editor to Psychology Today, where his article on the violent mentally ill won the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ award for investigative journalism in 1995. He is the former Vice President of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
