The nomination deadline looming for the hungryhouse.co.uk English Curry Awards 2011

June 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Time is running out for voters to contribute to the first hungryhouse.co.uk English Curry Awards, which will take place on the 25th July 2011 at the Sheridan Suite in Manchester. The awards represent the chance to honour the members of England’s curry industry for the tireless work and energy they put into creating the nation’s favourite dishes. The voting for the awards will officially close at the end of June.

Managing Director of hungryhouse.co.uk Shane Lake said: “This will be the first hungryhouse.co.uk English Curry Awards and we are confident it will emulate the success of the Scottish version. Being home to the famous Curry Mile, we know how much Manchester loves its curries and that is why The Sheridan Suite is a perfect fit for the awards. I’m sure the English curry fans can match the passion and enthusiasm voters brought to the awards in Scotland.”

Over 800 people are expected to attend the glamorous bash celebrating the thriving English curry community, and the honours shall range from the current kings of the English curry scene to legends of the industry that have been representing curry cuisine in Britain for years.

There is still time to vote in the following categories: Takeaway of the Year; Restaurant of the Year; Team of the Year; Chef of the Year; Best Supermarket Curry; The Curry Lover of the Year; Curry King or Queen 2011; and Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s awards not only celebrate the best of the English curry industry, but also recognise the support needed for a worthy charity. The charity partner for the awards is the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (ASBAH) which is Europe’s largest organisation dedicated to helping individuals and families facing the challenges of spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

The hungryhouse.co.uk 2011 English Curry Awards follows on from the runaway success of the hungryhouse.co.uk Scottish Curry Awards, which since 2008 has raised over £22,000 for the Scottish Spina Bifida Association.
