Sponsor a Dog in Costa Rica – Help Support the Only Dog City in the World

June 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Dogland Shelter in San Ramon Costa Rica is an amazing creation of Helene Wirt. Her love and dedication to street dogs knows no bounds. The Meet Your Dog Sponsorship program was created to help keep this shelter open and doing the work so desperately needed.

Dogland is not the typical shelter that you might imagine. No dogs are kept in kennels or cages; they live in what can only be described as a dog city. This is a NO-KILL Shelter and simply put we need sponsors to stay open.

You can sponsor a dog at Dogland for as little as $5 a month. 1 less trip to Starbucks every month and you will be helping in ways you can’t imagine. You will be listed on the Dogland BLOG as a supporter of the shelter and the pup you choose.

If you are in Costa Rica and want to visit the shelter or dog you are sponsoring you are more than welcome. Our residents love visitors and can’t wait to meet you.  If you are interested in adoption, please contact us.  We currently have 20 puppies up for adoption to loving homes.

Some estimates put the street dog population at 1 million in Costa Rica. If you live here or have visited I am sure you have noticed. There are no government facilities only privately run shelters and too few exist.
