June 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The last spreadsheet for iPads, iPhones, and iPods left much to be desired. Apple has now redesigned Numbers, their spreadsheet for iPad. They fixed all the little problems that fell short of our expectations. Isn't that great? Let me tell you about the enhancement they fixed for all of us users of spreadsheets.

Even though Apple says it's a little update for Numbers it's a big deal for mobile phone users who like to work on their Numbers on iPad. There are still a few items you can't get like full-screen mode and landscape view on your iPhone and iPod but other than that they've taken care of the bigger problems.

Before Numbers 1.4, you couldn't export files to Excel, although you could read Excel files. Now, you can save them for Excel format and bring them back into your iPad. Another enhancement Apple made was to the folders. You can create folder while in the spreadsheet. Just drag and drop and you've created another folder. There is a little trick to it as you have to hover over another folder before you drop. It works just great! If you can't figure out how to do it then the Help section is now very helpful. Numbers for iPadNumbers on iPad still has a small supply of fonts but do you really need hundreds of fonts on your spreadsheet? You also can't merge cells due to the layout and of course, you are limited to working on one file at a time.

Before the only way to undo was to give your iPhone or iPod a good shake but with Numbers on iPad there is a little button you can tap to undo to your hearts content.

Using Numbers on iPad you can see the whole spreadsheet even though the screen is small you still get to see all your numbers. You can use Numbers on your iPhone or iPod without some of the enhancements but you'll still be able to see the numbers clear enough to make small changes. Especially, if that change is the difference between a hundred dollar contract and a million dollar contract. Numbers has made it to the big times with a Spreadsheet for iPad. Enjoy!
