Golf news-The PGA Tour's Bob Hope Classic has a new title sponsor and a new format. Organizers said Thursday that the tournament will be called the Humana Challenge after Louisville, Ky.-based Humana agreed to an eight-year deal as title sponsor, along with the William J. Clinton Foundation. The tournament will be played Jan. 16-22.The event had been without a title sponsor since Chrysler bailed out after 2008 during the financial crisis.

   

   At first glance the R9 driver features a new clubhead shape that is a blend of modern and classic designs in 422cc clubhead, that looks a lot like last year's r7 limited driver and r7 SuperQuad(Cheap Golf Drivers), with its triangular shape, contoured corners, and similar graphics on the sole. In fact, TaylorMade calls it "New Classic" because it is at once modern and traditional, and should prove the test of time.

   

   

   The R9 Driver has a small metallic sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft. The shaft is secured to the club head with a specially made bolt in the bottom of the club head. The FCT bolt is designed to be retained in the well to eliminate the chance of losing it. At the bottom of the sleeve is a ring of small, gear like teeth, which tightly mesh with a second ring of matching teeth within the hosel.

   

   Taylormade’s Moveable Weight Technology (MWT) was first introduced in the r7 Quad driver several years ago. This technology allows you to move the center of gravity (CG) in the club head by changing the position of weight around the perimeter of the head(Cheap golf irons). This in turn has a profound effect on the trajectory of the ball. The R9 driver comes standard with two 1 gram weights and one 16 gram weight. You’ll find more detailed information below on how the position of each weight affects the trajectory.

   

   So just what is the TaylorMade Flight Control Technology? In short, this is what allows the golfer to change the face angle, lie, and loft of the driver. This technology uses a metallic sleeve that is placed over the tip of the shaft which can be rotated into multiple positions(Cheap golf clubs). By rotating the sleeve, the golfer is then able to change the loft, lie, and face angle of the club producing a more custom driver.

   

   When you setup to the ball, R9′s smaller triangular shape took a little getting used to, especially in this era of oversized 460cc clubheads. The TaylorMade R9 Driver is equipped with a brand new shaft by Fujikura Golf-the 65-gram Fujikura Motore graphite shaft that is 45.25″ Long. The Fujikura Motore graphite shaft with High Intertia Tip (HIT) technology, is engineered with a new advanced tip construction that promotes faster ball speed. The added kick through the impact zone to promote increased ball speed and distance.

   

   The TaylorMade Moveable Weight Technology allows the golfer to adjust the weight of the club to their specifics. This is done by using a special TaylorMade wrench to move weight cartridges into ports that TaylorMade placed strategically positioned on the TaylorMade R9 driver. By placing more weight in the heel of the driver it will promote a draw. By placing more weight in the toe of the driver it will promote a slice.
