July 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Suld Jeh Yu Jing, a Chinese restaurant just 70m from Hualamphong station, serves excellent, if a bit pricey, vegetarian food in a clean, air-con atmosphere. The fruit shakes are particularly well made; this is a great place to fortify yourself with food. -and drink while waiting for a train. The service can be slow, so leave plenty of time to make your train departure. The Roman-script sign reads Vegetarian'
Over in Phahurat, the Indian fabric district, most places serve north-Indian cuisine, which is heavily influenced by Moghul or Persian flavors and spices. Royal India
qualifies as one of the best north-Indian restaurants in town. Follow the signs off Th Chakraphet into a concrete alley. Royal India also has a branch on Th Khao San in Banglamphu, but it's not as good. The lane before Royal India has a handful of other Indian restaurants, should you be thwarted by a full dining room.More : http://hotel-thailande.com/samui.html
ATM department store (Th Chakraphet), near the pedestrian bridge, has a food centre on the top floor that features cheap and tasty Indian food. Alongside the ATM building, on Soi ATM, are several small teahouses that serve very inexpensive Indian and Nepali food, including lots of fresh chapati and strong milk tea. At a shop called Pandey's you can buy Indian spices and cooking ware. In the afternoons a Sikh man sets up a pushcart on the corner of Soi ATM and Th Chakraphet, and selfs vegetarian samosa, often cited as the best in Bangkok.
Wedged between the western edge of Chinatown and the northern edge of Phahu¬rat, the three-storey Old Siam Plaza shopping centre houses a number of Thai, Chinese and Japanese restaurants. The most economical places are on the 3rd floor, where a food centre serves relatively inexpensive meals from 10am to 5pm.Info: http://hotel-thailande.com/hotelsamui.html
During the annual Vegetarian Festival (which is in September/October and centered around Wat Mangkon Kamalawat on Th Charoen Krung), Bangkok's Chinatown becomes a virtual orgy of vegetarian Thai and Chinese cuisine. The restaurants and noodle shops in the area offer hundreds of different dishes. The temporary food stalls set up along Soi Vanit 2 off Soi 20, Th Charoen Krung, offer the most generous spreads.
