July 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Baan Rim Nam, across the river from Bangkok, has an open-air pavilion to dine amid the bright lights of the Shangri-La and Oriental Hotels. Take a cross-river ferry , from the end of the lane in front of the Shangri-La Hotel, to the wooden pier on die Thonburi shore. Wind through the narrow lanes until you come to a main road (Th Charoen Nakhon), then turn left. Near a large shopping centre, follow the signs for the restaurant. The ferry runs until around 2am. Supatra River House  is modern elegance in a traditional Thai-style house. The restaurant is perfectly situated in a crook in the river to afford views of Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Arun - most stunning at night when both temples are illuminated. Highly recommended is anything in the seafood category, where the kitchen particularly excels. Din¬ner can be followed with a theatre performance at the restaurant's affiliated stage, Patravadi Theatre. A free ferry service is available from Tha Mahathat to the restaurant; reservations are recommended.Info: http://booking-thailand.net/hotel-bangkok.html
Krua Rakhang Thong is the trailer-park neighbor to well-manicured Supatra River House, with similar (and cheaper) river views. It serves excellent Thai food, in¬cluding a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Particularly good is the sôm-tam yâwt mâ-phrcio àwn (spicy salad) made with coconut shoots. A small outdoor section upstairs has a few tables, including one or two with the famous dual-temple view. The restaurant is a lovely walk from Tha Wang Lang (reached from the Bangkok side by a cross-river ferry at Tha Chang); from die pier turn left at the first through street past the market crowded with vegie sellers and vendors glued to the same TV soap operas. The Roman-script sign at the entrance reads 'River View'.
Yok Yor Khlongsan is a floating restaurant opposite River City shopping complex on the Thonburi side of the river. It runs inexpensive evening dinner cruises - you order from the regular menu and pay a nominal 70B charge for the boat service.
