By: mycheapgolf Shop Price: $428.99 Golf news-If seeing the putts drop for birdie were not enough, K.J. Choi noticed his gallery growing and getting more excited for him Friday at Aronimink in the AT&T National."I started feeling that ... I'm working toward a special round," Choi said. With five birdies over his last six holes, Choi had a 6-under 64 to match the lowest score in the two years the AT&T National has been played at Aronimink. It gave him a two-shot lead over Chris Riley, Charlie Wi, Justin Leonard and Bo Van Pelt. The new Anser, a forged multi-material iron, is designed to raise Ping’s profile among avid single-digit handicappers in Japan, Korea and other Asian markets. Of course, Ping expects its share of converts in the States, too. The U.S. version, for the record, has an identical head design as the Asian model(Cheap golf clubs), the same shaft length, a 1-degree weaker loft per club, and the Project X shaft. As expected, the clubhead materials and overall design package contribute to a softer, quieter impact sensation. The ping anser forged irons clubface is thick behind the hitting area, similar to a muscleback blade, while a "support bar" (just below the oval "custom tuning port") connects the face to the back flange. As Japanese players began appearing more frequently on the PGA Tour, Japanese golf equipment was more heavily influenced by the West. When Titleist, TaylorMade and Callaway committed themselves to Far Eastern expansion, the courtship of West and East took a giant step forward. The forged, multi-metal design, of the ping anser irons combines an 8620 steel body, a dense tungsten sole, and machined grooves for unequaled forged-iron feel and forgiveness. Its hollow-sole cavity softens feel and positions the CG for higher-launching shots. The progressive set design offers long-iron forgiveness and short-iron control. Ping has noted that the Anser Forged Iron uses progressive offset going from more to less as the irons get shorter. This creates more ease of use in the long irons, allowing the player to square the club face easier. The offset shrinks as the irons get shorter to focus on control and touch. This ease of use concept mixes automatic/point and shoot long irons made for distance with workable short irons to attack the pin(Cheap golf drivers). While not a super game-improvement iron, the Anser irons feature plenty of perimeter weighting and tungsten in the sole to help players get the ball into the air more easily. The PING badge on the back of the club is a weight that can be changed as part of the fitting process. The forgiveness bit ties into a hollow cavity (behind the lower portion of the face) that redistributes 30 grams away from the face. The Anser has forgiveness qualities that are similar to the i15's, but the Anser looks cleaner, feels noticeably smoother, produces more spin on short cheap golf irons and flies slightly lower in the long irons. The Anser carries the same name as one of the early models Karsten Solheim produced before he transitioned to the popular investment casting process. The newest version pushes the forging process to create performance benefits not previously associated with a forged club.
