By: Suzanne Roman Perhaps you've always wanted a long haired tabby kitten or a need a small dog good with teens. We can help! Save a life and put a puppy mill or back yard breeder out of business by adopting! For a fee of $35.00 canine and $10.00 for a kitten, Mt. Pleasant will reach out to our partner shelters and rescues to find you the pet you seek. Once found, you can spend time in our "Kitten Cabin" or "Puppy Place" getting to know one another in a private and cheery setting. Of course, we can't guarantee that the animals we have available will have the personality you want or have certain characteristics you feel are important, so if a match is not made during your membership period, your membership fee will be a donation towards the approximately 800 pets in need Mt. Pleasant will assist this year. Canine memberships are valid for 3 months and kitten requests for 3 calls. Any staff member at the Shelter would be happy to explain the program in full detail. An adult feline program is scheduled to begin in the fall. Restrictions apply to the program and some animals are simply not available and therefore we do not guarantee a specific animal to any adopter. We also reserve the right to deny any adoption as our ultimate goal is to ensure lifelong pet ownership in homes that are appropriate for the personality, type and temperment of each pet. Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter is where our animals are our family until they become yours.
