Regent Holidays Launches New Tour to Mark Centenary of North Korea's (deceased) President

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- A fascinating escorted tour in April 2012 will give visitors to North Korea the chance to participate in the celebrations of the 100th Anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung – the man who is still President of the country, despite having died in 1994.   Kim Il Sung is considered by the North Koreans to be the founder of the nation and father of the people, and as such, he is revered with an almost religious fervour.  The centenary of his birth will be the biggest celebration in North Korea in decades – and Regent Holidays have organised an escorted tour to enable visitors to witness this spectacular event for themselves.  

The 9 day tour will begin on 12th April 2012 and will include visits to well known sites such as Pyongyang, Kaesong, the DMZ and Mount Myohyang.  The absolute highlight of the trip will be President Kim Il Sung’s birthday on 15th April, when Regent’s itinerary will include visits to the awesome Kumsusan Memorial Palace and the Revolutionary Martyr’s, culminating with an evening visit to Kim Il Sung Square.  The entire country has been preparing for this date for the last few years and celebrations of epic proportions are expected to take place.  

The group size will be a maximum of sixteen and will cost from £1395 per person, including one way flight with Air Koryo to Pyongyang from Beijing and a standard one way sleeper train ticket from Pyongyang to Beijing, all transport, accommodation and meals in North Korea and the North Korean visa fee and visa.  The price does not include international flights from the UK to Beijing.
