International Scholarship and Tuition Services Announces Relocation of Corporate Headquarters

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), the premier provider of scholarship, grant and tuition program management services, announced yesterday the relocation of its corporate headquarters and internal call center to Airport Executive Plaza (AEP) in Nashville, TN. The newly remodeled 7,000 square foot facility houses the current full-time staff and has several open workspaces to accommodate new additions to the ISTS team.

The company moved to its previous Nashville location in 2003, bringing along a staff of 15 employees. Today, ISTS employs nearly 30 full-time employees and up to 70 seasonal associates.

When planning for the move began last fall, President and CEO Becky Sharpe’s objective for the new office was twofold – create a fresh and modern atmosphere for the ISTS team and design a space that supports ISTS’ growth and long term corporate vision.

“The work environment should be a place people enjoy physically – light, bright and natural,” said Sharpe. “But it should also symbolize who we are as a company.”

Following the acquisition of two existing office spaces at AEP, Sharpe looked to Martin Shofner, founder and lead designer of the Nashville-based firm ArchitectSure, to complete the project. Shofner and his team have spent the last five months renovating the entire space, including new carpeting, lighting, paint and furniture.

“We pretty much started from scratch,” said Shofner. “The real challenge was taking two constrictive tenant spaces and making them into one integrated space within the existing structural elements and electrical wiring.”

In addition to providing each employee with personal space to meet his or her specific needs, Shofner wanted his design to foster energy and movement. He developed the floor plan to allow sunlight to filter throughout the office space and incorporated a vibrant color palette.

“I try to individualize the space, yet create a sense of community,” said Shofner. The office is not set up like a call center with cubbies – rather it is a balanced approach that generates synergy and enhances team dynamics. Becky wants her workplace to feel like home, both for herself and her entire staff.”

ISTS staff members celebrated the unveiling of their new office Tuesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
