July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Author Joseph Kaufman will discuss his novel, The Legend of Cosmo and the Archangel at Congregation Beth Israel, on Wednesday, August 17, 7 p.m.

The novel was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. It speaks about choices, changes, and the different response each person can have to the same situations. The two protagonists, intertwined by the past, travel the globe: one in pursuit, one pursued.  Eventually they find spiritual resolution in Jerusalem.

Joseph Kaufman was born in 1955 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and now lives in Israel. In creating The Legend of Cosmo and the Archangel, Kaufman melds together his experiences of Bennington College and the tutelage of author Bernard Malamud, the Peace Corps in Africa, yeshiva in Israel, and years working for the family business, Kay Bee Toys.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is necessary. RSVP to Pat Kazakoff, pat@kazakoff.com, 860-232-2319.
