Collier County Students Invited To Star In Rock Band Music Video

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Do you have what it takes to be a Break Out! music video star? Marco Island Academy is giving you the chance to find out. Collier County 9th and 10th grade students are invited to enter the “Break Out! Red Carpet Contest” between July 11 and July 21, 2011 for a chance to appear in a music video featuring the band Us vs. Them. Students are encouraged to enter the contest at http://marcoislandacademy.com/contest/ and the winner will be chosen and notified by July 21, 2011. The Break Out! Contest winner will get rock star treatment while attending the video premiere on July 23, 2011 from 4pm-6pm and will film a cameo on the red carpet!

Opening in August 2011, Marco Island Academy (MI Academy) is a new tuition-free public charter high school open to all 9th and 10th grade students in Collier County, Florida with a special emphasis on math, science, technology, environmental, global studies, and the arts. To promote MI Academy’s innovative music and media arts curriculum, Mark Haffner, an Emmy Award-winning composer, producer and director produced an original song & music video for the band, Us vs. Them. This video will inspire students to think creatively and will demonstrate one of the unique programs offered at MI Academy. Additionally, the MI Academy will be the first school to incorporate and environmental curriculum written by Dr Richard Murphy for Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Futures Society. Students will step out of the classroom to explore the surrounding environment and experience nature first-hand.

At last, your dream of appearing on a music video is finally here. One lucky winner will ride in the limo and walk the red carpet with Us vs. Them, who is competing for a spot on this year’s Vans Warped Tour. The winner will be a featured guest at the "Break Out!" music video premiere from 4-6pm on July 23, 2011 at the Belize on Marco Island. Non-winners are eligible to attend the premiere event by sending an email to chair@marcoislandacademy.com including their name, address, grade, email, & telephone number with the subject line "Attend premiere."
