"Removing Your Old Faucet step 1- start by cleaning out the base cabinet. You will need as much space as possible to work and will involve some contortionism. Lay a couple old towels on the bottom of the cabinet to absorb any water left in the supply lines later on in step 3. Step 2- start by shutting off the water supply to the faucet by turning the angle stop valves, there should be two(hot and cold. Step 3- with your pliers unhook the supply lines connected to the angle stops. Righty tighty, Lefty loosey. There will be water in the lines, that’s what the towels were for.Follow the supply lines to the top where they meet the faucet. Again use pliers to unscrew the other end of the supply lines. Inspect the angle stop threads for remnants of Teflon tape and clean. Step4- Ok here’s where being double jointed will come in handy. There are two washer/nuts that hold the faucet the the sink, they could be plastic or metal. Sometimes you can get lucky and be able to turn them with your hand, but if not that when the basin wrench comes in. Unscrew the two nuts and set aside. Step 5- the faucet should now be detached from the sink. Go ahead and dispose of the old faucet if you desire. Use a putty knife and a sponge to get and plumbers putty or caulking left behind on the sink top."
