Ventura County Fusion to Host 30th Annual Britannia Soccer Camp, Aug. 7-11, at Ojai Valley School

July 13, 2011 - PRLog -- VENTURA, Calif. — The Ventura County Fusion (http://www.vcfusion.com), the region’s first and only world-class, championship-caliber soccer franchise, the 2010 Southwest Division title holder, and the 2009 champions of the Premier Development League (PDL), today announced it will host the 30th annual Britannia Soccer Camp (http://britanniasoccercamp.com), a residential, full-day, and half-day immersive summer training program for individual children, soccer teams, and goalkeepers, August 7-11, 2011, at Ojai Valley School in Ojai, Calif. The highly-regarded camp, billed as “The Total Soccer Experience,” gives boys and girls of all ages and experience levels the opportunity to improve their playing skills by living, eating, and breathing soccer, and features nationally- and internationally-licensed coaches from the United States and United Kingdom.

Entering its fourth decade of operation and its third year under Fusion management and operation, the Britannia Soccer Camp is one of the most prestigious residential programs of its kind in the United States. With individual, team, and goalkeeper instruction programs available, the camp offers children ages 4-18 much more than just intensive soccer training. While enrolled at Britannia, campers also have access to supervised, enjoyable recreation activities, including swimming, billiards, tennis, table tennis, and foosball; comfortable, well-appointed dormitories; nutritional food and beverage selections; the chance to learn valuable life lessons, both on and off the field; and the opportunity to meet and make new friends from around the world in one of Southern California’s most scenic settings.

Britannia Soccer Camp participants are grouped together by age and ability to facilitate learning with others who have reached similar levels of skill. The camp begins by mastering the fundamentals of ball control, passing, shooting, and goalkeeping, and moves on to more sophisticated drills and strategies. As the camp progresses, players continue to learn more advanced techniques, and then are able apply those acquired skills in scrimmages and friendly competitions with other campers.


Britannia Soccer Camp:  A Broad Range of Program and Pricing Options
The Britannia Soccer Camp offers a broad range of attendance options and costs to meet the individual needs of each player:

* Boarding Camp:  Exclusively for players ages 10-18, this is Britannia Soccer Camp’s signature week-long residential program. Registration begins on Sunday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m., with the camp officially starting at 2:00 p.m. Closing ceremonies take place on Thursday, August 11, at 3:00 p.m.. Cost:  $495.00, which includes full boarding, three meals per day, and two Adidas training shirts.
* Full-Day Camp:  For children ages 10-18, the full-day camp offers soccer training and instruction from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. each day. Registration begins on Sunday, August 7 at 1:30 p.m., with the camp officially starting at 2:00 p.m. Closing ceremonies take place on Thursday, August 11, at 3:00 p.m. Cost:  $345.00, which includes lunch and dinner each day, and two Adidas training shirts.
* Day Camp:  Designed for players 7-18 years of age, the day camp provides children with soccer training and instruction from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Registration begins on Sunday, August 7 at 1:30 p.m., with the camp officially starting at 2:00 p.m. Closing ceremonies take place on Thursday, August 11, at 3:00 p.m. Cost:  $245.00, which includes lunch each day and two Adidas training shirts.
* Mini Camp:  Specifically created for children 4-9 years old, the mini camp offers players high-quality soccer coaching from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day starting Monday, August 8. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 8, with the camp officially commencing at 9:00 a.m. There are no closing ceremonies. Cost:  $125.00, which includes an Adidas training shirt.
* Goalkeeper Camp:  Britannia Soccer Camp also offers specialized goalkeeping instruction to players 10-18 years of age. This option is available only to boarding camp and full-day camp participants.
* Team Camp:  Team camps are available for 10 or more players. Please contact the Ventura County Fusion for details.

Enrollment in this year’s Britannia Soccer Camp is limited, and space in each camp is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure a child’s place in the camp of his or her choice, parents should send a completed application form and a non-refundable registration fee of $100.00 to the Ventura County Fusion’s offices at 701 East Santa Clara Street, Suite 42; Ventura, CA  93001.
