By: Jane Zande Upcoming worship services and events include: • Kabbalat (Musical) Shabbat Service, held outdoors, on Friday, July 29, 6:30 PM. Those considering joining Beth Israel will have a complementary picnic dinner, with make-your-own sundaes for dessert. A screening of the movie Pride, Honor & Courage: Jewish Women Remember World War II, will follow. The highly acclaimed film explores the role Jewish women from Hartford took in the workforce before World War II and in the military during the war. • Family Shabbat Service, held outdoors, on Friday, August 5, 6:30 PM, followed by a bring-your-own picnic. • Tot Shabbat, Saturday, August 6, 10:30 AM • Joseph Kaufman, author of the book, The Legend of Cosmo and the Archangel, will speak on Wednesday, August 17, 7 PM • Kabbalat Shabbat Service, Friday, August 26, 6:30 PM, followed by a bring-your-own picnic. • An Open House will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 6 PM. A delicious barbeque will be provided with entertainment for the whole family. On the remaining Fridays in July and August, services will be start at 7:30 PM and on Saturdays at 11 AM.
