7th Genghis Khan Tourist Culture Week

July 20, 2011 - PRLog -- This week (July 18-24), the Genghis Khan Tourist Culture Week is held in the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan Scenic Area. This is the best opportunity for all tourists to participate in many interesting tourism activities and experience the unique Mongolian culture.

The Genghis Khan Tourist Culture Week has already been successful held 6 times in the past 6 years, is one of the ethnic features tourism and cultural festivals in China. This year, the activities of the week includes Nadam Fair, Mongolian horse show, photography competition exhibition, Mongolian calligraphy show, Mongolian instrument performances, BMW Motor Show, Erdos ethnic food festival, the annual Miss World Tourism 2011 China finals champion and award show and many other activities to demonstrate the theme of this year 'Tianjiao the Holy Land, desert scenery, ethnic customs'. The Mausoleum of Genghis Khan is located in Ejin Horo Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia of China. It was listed as the key historical site under state protection in 1982. The mausoleum belongs the Grade AAAAA tourism scenic spot and the national culture industry demonstration base. Every year, some solemn Memorial activities are held here in the 21st day of the 3rd month of the lunar calendar, Jun 15 (lunar calendar), Aug 20 (lunar calendar) and Oct 3 (lunar calendar).
