July 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Tim Brabants, 34 year old Olympic canoeing champion has been ousted from Great Britain team for the upcoming World Championships to be held in Hungary. He has been defeated in a race-off by Paul Wycherley.for more information, you can log on to http://www.londonolympicstickets.com

Because of poor form and illness, Brabants had been forced into race-off. This clearly signifies that Wycherley will compete for GB in London.

The first Briton to won gold medal in either sprint or slalom kayak is Brabants. During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he has enjoyed great success. In the 2000 Sydney Games, he has been the winner of bronze medals in 1000m and 500m. In the year 2007, he became the 1000m world champion.

The first of the race-off contest has been lost by Wycherley, but won rest of the two races. While addressing BBC Sports, Wycherley said, “That was one of the toughest races I've done. Tim is the Olympic champion and an enormously brilliant paddler. The last half of the race was a war of attrition. I had to dig very deep - and then dig some more.”for more information, you can log on to http://www.londonolympicstickets.com

In case, Wycherley successfully qualifies K1 boat for London Olympics, after completing top eight at Worlds, then it would be tough for the selection committee to unseat him.
