JM Management Collaborating With PMO Media Group To Facilitate East Coast Placement Opportunities

July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- After several negotiations, SAIGON ELECTRIC has decided to collaborate with JM Management Inc. and PMO Media Group as consultants to facilitate with additional bookings for their 2011 East Coast viewing schedule. The affiliation began in 2011 with the successful  placement of “You Can’t Stop Me”, track by J. Osceola, a Columbus-based Hip-Hop Artist on the movie soundtrack.  SAIGON ELECTRIC premiered at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival in March 2011 and since has been active in the film festival circuit. Plans are in place to open theatrically in U.S. cities Fall 2011.

NEXT SCREENING: THE ASIAN AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (8/10, NYC)
The next screening is scheduled at The Asian American International Film Festival, Wednesday, August 10th with the New York Premiere of AMIGO (USA), directed by acclaimed independent filmmaker John Sayles about the Philippine-American War in 1900. SHORT SYNOPSIS
MAI, a traditional ribbon dancer from the countryside, arrives to the big city of Saigon in hopes of being admitted to the national dance academy, where she meets the rebellious KIM, a hip hop dancer from a local crew. Mai enters their lives as the crew trains at the community center with their own dreams: to compete internationally in South Korea. To do so, they have to beat the national champs from Hanoi. Soon enough, Kim moves in with Mai and the two teens become kindred spirits until Kim loses in an underground battle and quits the South crew. As Mai becomes closer to Doboy, the leader of the South crew, Kim begins a fairy tale romance with Hai, a rich boy from the other side of the tracks threatens her friendship with Mai. The kids trouble mount when a hotel developer informs them that their community center will be torn down to make room for a large hotel. Now Mai and Doboy have to convince city officials to attend the Samsung competition, but first they’ve got to beat the North crew. Will Kim runoff to Europe with her rich new boyfriend, or will she return to her hip hop family. Will Mai find the courage to audition again for the national dance academy. Will the underdogs Saigon crew find a way to keep their community center and find victory at the big competition? SAIGON ELECTRIC is a movie that looks at the youth in modern day Vietnam, and their power to dream.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, and raised in Orange County, California, Stephane Gauger received a bachelor arts degree in theatre and French. He subsequently worked in the camera and lighting departments on independent films in the US and Southeast Asia. His feature directing debut, OWL AND THE SPARROW, shot on location in Ho Chi Minh city, has gone on to win over fifteen international awards, including the audience award at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
