Nicole Crowley Receives Honor as 1 of the top 25 Most Influential College Students

July 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Nicole Crowley, Event Coordinator for Science-A-Peel, Inc. is one of the top 25 most influential college students to help a not-for-profit.  This recognition comes from StayClassy, an organization that recognizes the top philanthropic achievements by charities, businesses, fundraisers and volunteers from across the country. Crowley was chosen as one of the top 25 from the nation because of her tireless efforts to help breathe life into Science-A-Peel, Inc. through such efforts as hosting the weekly science show on Cablevision, to volunteering as events coordinator for science awareness campaigns, to membership and sponsorship promoter.

Crowley now moves on to the final round where the public determines who is the most influential college student in the nation.  That person will be recognized at a special awards event in California in September.

Science-A-Peel, Inc, is a new charity, having been incorporated in January of 2010 and receiving its’ 501c3 public charity status a few months later.  Since its’ incorporation, Science-A-Peel, Inc. has developed a website to promote science to the public as well as a weekly science show on Cablevision.

Science-A-Peel, Inc. is a 501c3 public charity to promote science. John F. Kennedy may have expressed it best when on October 22 1963 he addressed the National Academy of Science and stated “science contributes to our culture in many ways, as a creative intellectual activity in its’ own right, as the light which has served to illuminate man’s place in the universe, and as the source of understanding of man’s own nature”. Far too important and all encompassing is the field of science to rest its’ knowledge securely wrapped in the hands of the intellects and far above the grasp of the average man. With this said, the goal of Science-A-Peel, Inc. is to foster a sense of active learning that will develop a more profound understanding/appreciation of the field of science while responding to the pluralism and multiculturalism of the public.
