On the day of festivities, he paid visit to the sites of 2012 London Olympics. While addressing BBC, Rogge has been asked regarding the preparation of London Olympics, he said, “You can't compare cities. Rogge was highly impressed with the Aquatics Centre and described £269m arena as a complete ‘masterpiece’.

He further added, “I've seen so many venues in my life but when I came up [it] I had a visual shock - this is unique, state of the art.” In order to finish the last of six main permanent Olympic Park venues, one year before the event, Rogge praised organizers of London 2012 Olympics a lot.

He requested London Organising Committee and Chairman Lord Sebastian Coe to be cautious. Rogge said, “It's all about the delivery of the Games, not just about the preparations. I have no worries. I just have a clockwatch and that says to me 27th of July, eight o'clock in the evening, next year, you have to be ready.”

IOC President feels that efficient transport system is one of the major challenges of London Olympics Games. He further said that most of the Olympic host cities have faced such problems. Olympic Lanes need to be designed in such manner that athletes, officials and media can move on it quickly and successfully between varied venues.
During the Olympic Games, Olympic Lanes will result in the closure of some of the roads of London. Transport for London also admitted that lanes would place huge traffic demands on various parts of network and need appropriate care.for more information, you can log on to http://www.londonolympicstickets.com

Rogge said, “The Olympic Lanes, let me tell you that it is less than 10% of the London territory that is affected. It is very much needed because, if you don't have Olympic Lanes, the athletes will not be able to perform and will not be able to compete on time.”
