Newton, Massachusetts Median Home Prices Increased, Home Sales Declined First Half 2011

Sept. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The median price of homes in Newton, Massachusetts increased in the first half of 2011 while sales decreased, according to data analyzed by Buyers Brokers Only LLC, an exclusive buyer agent real estate firm.

The data were compiled using MLS Property Information Network, Inc, a local multiple listing service.

The median price of single-family homes rose 11.5 percent in the first half of 2011 compared to the same period the previous year, a difference of $83,372.  Single-family home sales in Newton, MA decreased 6.6 percent in the first six months of 2011, a difference of 17 sales compared to the previous year.  

In January through June 2011, the median price of condominiums increased 3.1 percent, or $12,500 compared to the first half of 2010.  Condominium sales fell 28.3 percent, a decline of 39 sales.  

The median price of multi-family homes rose 8.4 percent in the first half of 2011 compared to the previous year, a difference of $45,750.  Sales of multi-family homes rose 13.3 percent in the first six months of 2011, a difference of four sales compared to the six-month period in 2010.
