2012 London Olympics Aquatics Centre Inaugurated

The brand new pool has been inaugurated by a group of young swimmers from local borough of Newham, Olympian David Davies along with beneficiary of the International Inspiration programme of London 2012.

These young swimmers have been joined by part of GB synchronized swimming team. IOC President Jacques Rogge stated regarding the centre, “It was fantastic to see the young swimmers get the opportunity to have the first-ever swim in the London 2012 Aquatics Centre. It will be a fantastic venue during the Games and I am confident that the athletes will be very happy when they take to the water themselves in earnest next year.
