Aug. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Reyna sat down with the Executive Editor of joyofkosher.com for an exclusive interview to discuss her new book.  The interview is available at:

While preparing to marry a Persian man, Reyna, a Venezuelan native under a ““politely suggestion” from her fiancé set out to learn from her future mother-in-law how best to cook for her soon to be “true Shirazi man“ husband and family.

While studying and learning the food and culture, Reyna developed a few shortcuts which make cooking Persian food a lot less intimidating for the busy home cook. Her main advice is , “cooking, even if it takes 5 minutes, has to be fun …” It is important to “let go” in the kitchen and enjoy. To the extent of letting her 5 sons help out even if they make a big mess. She started in the kitchen at a young age and wants to make sure her sons will be able to cook for their future wives.

Reyna is currently working on a Latin American kosher cookbook.

The cookbook we've all been waiting for - Persians and non-Persians alike! These rich, exotic recipes showcase the special heritage of the Persian community and introduce every cook to the spices and flavors unique to Persian cooking. This is one of the most user-friendly cookbooks you'll ever encounter. Reyna's style and tone is welcoming, chatty, and super-helpful; her enthusiasm for Persian food bubbles through even though she has South American roots, and she explains the special techniques for creating Sephardic cuisine in such detail that you'll be up and cooking in no time. The recipes are lavish, rich, and enticing; the photographs are divine; the details in this cookbook make it magnificent-- along with Reyna's personal anecdotes about integrating into a Persian family.
