Aug. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Jacob Hiller, internationally recognized vertical jump training specialist, will be releasing a new version of The Jump Manual. The release is scheduled for August 2011.

Hiller is going to release information on a scientific system of measuring the vertical jump. Hiller says this ‘top secret’ system will help athletes improve their vertical jump in ways that have never been utilized before. Feedback from other trainers in the industry has been overwhelmingly positive. The new version of The Jump Manual will show new research on maximizing the vertical jump for all types of athletes from the use of this revolutionary system.

One trainer in Indiana said, “This is groundbreaking stuff, no more guessing, and I am very excited to hear more about the research device and what it tells. The system could potentially help target training for different athletes for maximum results.”

The system uses Electromyography (EMG) as a way to measure central nervous system signals to the muscle. The central nervous system sends signals to activate muscle groups and the EMG can tell the intensity, duration, and the frequency of that activation or signal. The data shows up as a waveform and the higher the wave, the greater the intensity. The longer the wave, the greater the duration and the number of waves per unit of time is the frequency. Hiller hooks the system up to different muscular areas then watches as different areas light up with a wave from. While the athlete is jumping, Hiller can see the velocity increase and see how the muscles activate through the phases of the jump, then match those patterns to the activation patterns of other exercises.

This system will be vital in assisting Jacob with individualized training techniques for athletes who will be focusing on how to dunk and maximizing their vertical jump to optimal levels.

“I’m not going to just be researching glutes, but honing in on what type of activation takes place for different athletes during the vertical leap, then seeing how ‘activation specific’ the exercises are,” said Hiller.

Hiller will be focusing on delivering more techniques and innovative ways to improve the vertical jump through this scientific research in the updated version of The Jump Manual. Many athletes throughout the world rely on their vertical jump intensity and performance as a primary factor in their competitiveness and recognition for professional sports, particularly in drafting. Hiller has dedicated his scientific research to assisting these athletes in one of the most important performance areas of their careers.

More information on this new system and the exact release date of the updated version of The Jump Manual will be issued to the public and members soon. To stay abreast of this information, Hiller advises to subscribe to his blog and free coaching series at http://www.freeverticaljumptraining.com.
