SAFFRAN opens Flagship Restaurant in Orlando, Florida

Aug. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Orlando, FL --  Saffran, voted the “Best Restaurant” in 2009 and 2010 in Iceland, is opening its first U.S. location in Orlando  on August 5th!

Saffran combines “healthy” ingredients and  “delicious” flavors which have made Saffran not only a huge hit across Europe, but the locations in Iceland have grown every month for two-and-a-half years. Saffran turns upside down the whole concept of healthy eating, flavors and cost.

In addition to the amazing flavors, there is only one item on the entire menu over $9.95.   And for the health conscious, every item on the menu has less than  600 calories. SAFFRAN offers healthy, fresh, exotic, robust, flavorful and inexpensive food to “spice your soul and body”. Saffran uses only quality ingredients from local producers and all of our bread is baked using only barley, spelt and whole wheat.
The idea of healthy ingredients is included in our secret recipes. Saffran infuses tastes from European and Mediterranean food cultures with traditions from the Middle East to create incredibly robust flavors…  all without white flour, without white sugar, without frying …. at prices no one can believe … seems so simple… and it is … simple genius!  This is the basis of what will be world famous … SAFFLATS … healthy pizza-salads… like the Happy Shrimp Safflat with garlic marinated shrimp, pistachios and frisee salad or the Moroccan Safflat with marinated lamb, leek, red chili and mushroom.
One signature dish, Saffran Chicken, is served with onion and cooked before your very eyes in a traditional charcoal-fired Icelandic tandoori. It will have you wanting more (although the portions are impressive).

Saffran is open for lunch and dinner.   Our U.S. flagship restaurant is located at 1700 Sand Lake Road (at the SW corner of OBT, Orange Blossom Trail) in Orlando. You can’t miss the beautiful SAFFRAN sign on the Rotunda.
