Ritacca Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Center First In Area To Offer New Wrinkle Relaxer, Xeomin

Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Ritacca Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Center now offer the latest wrinkle-reducer, Xeomin by Merz Aesthetics.  Xeomin works similarly to other toxins such as Botox Cosmetic® and Dysport by Medicis.  Xeomin will join Botox Cosmetic® and Dysport as the third wrinkle-relaxer available to patients and physicians.

Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport and Xeomin work uniquely in each person by temporarily relaxing muscles that produce frown lines and wrinkles when they are injected in to the specific muscles.

Merz Aesthetics received FDA approval for XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adult patients just this month.  

Xeomin differs from Botox and Dysport because it doesn’t need to be refrigerated.  In addition, there are no additives to Xeomin –just botulinum toxin type A.   Although Xeomin is more often compared to Botox Cosmetic rather than Dysport, it takes about one week to notice full effect of the product.  There has been some speculation that it can last up to six months with some patients where Botox typically lasts 3 – 4 months.  

All injectables should be administered by registered nurses, doctors or plastic surgeons.  Xeomin should not be injected in beauty salons, malls or at Xeomin parties in the home.
