Northwest Cape Coral Neighborhood Association holds Candidate Forums August 29 and 31

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- The Northwest Cape Coral Neighborhood Association, Inc. (NWNA) will host a two-night Cape Coral City Council Candidates’ Forum on Monday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Mariner High School auditorium, located at 701 Chiquita Blvd. North (corner of Tropicana Blvd.). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for seating.  The forums are open to the public.

Cape Coral City Council seats in Districts 2, 3, 5 and 7 are up for re-election this year, and there are 18 candidates seeking 4-year terms in the four Districts. In order to thoroughly hear each candidate’s positions on the issues, two nights have been set aside for the forums.

Candidates who are scheduled to appear on August 29 are:

District 2 - Daniel Sheppard, III
District 3 - Leonard Nesta, Jr.
District 3 - Alan Sheppard
District 5 - Carlos Alvarez
District 5 - Bennie Barnes
District 5 - James McManus
District 5 - William 'Scott' Morris
District 5 - Charles Stanton
District 7 - Michael Garr

District 2 - Peter B. Brandt
District 2 - John M. Carioscia          
District 2 - Joseph Coviello
District 3 - William Deile          
District 5 - Richard Leon          
District 5 - Rana Erbrick
District 7 - David Stokes
District 7 - Erica Nicole Warren
District 7 - Derrick Donnell

All registered voters in Cape Coral are eligible to vote in all the District races in the primary election on September 13 and should attend both sessions to meet and compare all of the candidates.

The NWNA was formed by area residents to provide an open forum for discussion of issues of general importance to members.
