Green designers to showcase on Baltimore Fashion Week's opening night

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Baltimore Fashion Week opens Thursday, August 18, 2011 with its runway event titled "From the Earth to the Runway Creativity Never Dies." Eight designers will present their ready to wear and purchasable garments for Fall/Winter 2011 and Spring/Summer 2012 lines to Baltimore Fashion Week's over 400 guests.

Local designer Karen Garalde will open with 18 models, showcasing her Fall/Winter 2011 line Kalai Kai.

Unique Creations Apparel by Johnathan Alexander Pope will follow with his collection for Fall/WInter 2011.

Tamara Villanueva's Submerged will be the first Spring/Summer 2012 line to showcase during Baltimore Fashion Week with 11 models.

Jacuqline Hall Hudson will follow presenting her collection j.Alpha Clothing.

The first non-local designer Odunayo Ade, hailing from New York, showcases her Daughter of the Soil collection of garments for Spring/Summer 2012.

The eponymous Travis Wilcox Collection includes 11 looks for Fall/Winter 2011.

Annabelle by Ann Boland presents 15 looks for Fall.

DeBois Textiles' Reanna Jacobs will close the show with her Vintage Chic line showcasing her Fall/Winter 2011 and Spring/Summer 2012 collections.

"These designers are extremely talented," Nixon says. "It is our goal with each year to push the envelope and raise the bar and these designers never cease to amaze me with their creativity."

Guests are sure to fall in love with the runway looks that will be showcased. The Official Cosmetic Sponsor for Baltimore Fashion Week 2011, Milani has supplied the make-up to be used to complement and complete the designers' vision.

Baltimore Fashion Week will run Thursday, August 18, 2011 through Sunday, August 21, 2011.
