Jumboking completes 10 years on 23rd august: goes airconditioned

Indian retail superbrand Jumboking, the quick service restaurant chain that has captured the imagination of the city’s youth has achieved yet another milestone. It now serves you a vada pav in an air-conditioned environment.

The brand now completes ten years of existence. Franchise enquiries from Eurpose and USA notwithstanding; Dheeraj Gupta, the owner wants to first launch Indian megacities and upscale in a responsible manner.  The franchising program itself now encompasses a minimum investment of three stores and also appoints development agents across the country. Bangalore and Aurangabad already have development agents in place who re expanding the brands footprint.

Says Dheeraj Gupta, MD JumboKing Foods Private Ltd; "brands have to become more aspirational with time; they have to move forward with the exposure levels of their customers. We feel that now the time is right and the market is ready to accept that vadapav can be sold from an ac store without getting intimidated from entering into one. In the past, the revered ex-President Abdul Kalam and stars such as Preity Zinta (brand ambassador Pepsi), Sachin Tendulkar ( brand ambassador Pepsi),
R Madhavan (he had the 5 croreth Jumboking) , John Abraham (brand ambassador  diet pepsi)  and Anurag Kashyap, Ritesh Deshmukh etc have been associated with the brand for various co-promotions. But of course; the connection between Mumbai's Bollywood junta and  Mumbais vada pav cannot be undermined!
