Bedford Stuyvestant Brooklyn Businesses Come Together for Back to School Giveaway

Aug. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Brooklyn, NY August 22, 2011- Any family who has sent a child off to school knows how expensive it can be. Paper, pens, books, notebooks, backpacks, new clothes ... the list seems to be never-ending. This year Loveys Accessories Boutique owner Tionna Smalls who starred in Vh1’s What Chilli Wants and fellow Brooklyn business owners are coming together to lend a helping hand, by giving away school supplies on September 6, 2011 in front of the boutique, 377 Marcus Garvey Blvd.

The event will begin at 4pm. The supplies will be given out as first come, first served and parents are required to one supply per child. Families will also be able to come and enjoy some of the free refreshments that will be served. “Our goal is to give away school supplies to at least 100 children in the Brooklyn area.  Next year we hope to triple that,” says Smalls, an Author/Entrepreneur who has recently appeared on Vh1’s “What Chilli Wants.”

Smalls opened her boutique last December and hopes that she and her business affiliates can make a difference for low-income children who parade the area. Other businesses that are participating in this year school supply giveaway are Loveys’ neighbors, Son’s Barbershop and 430 Inkz Tattoo Parlor. Other businesses are Boss Chick Sorority, Black Champagne Entertainment, Vantage Executive Group, INC., and Nevafull Entertainment. Many people in the Bedford Stuyvesant community contributed as well.
