Verbs - Differentiating Types of Verbs and Past/Present Tense Verb Conjugation

Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- This iPod/iPad app is a fun way to study verbs, and it follows the Core Curriculum. In addition, it is great for ESL and ELL where verb conjugation is often difficult.

Ways to Play  

Practice Level The student will read a sentence. Given three word choices, the student will choose the correct verb or the present tense when give a sentence with the verb's past tense. An incorrect response allows the student to read the passage again and select another answer.


Single Player The student plays a bingo-like game against the computer. The student reads a sentence. Given three word choices, the student will choose the correct verb to finish the sentence. An alternate type of question provides a sentence, and the student identifies the present tense when given a past tense verb in the sentence. Choosing the correct verb allows the student to place a marker on the game card. Five markers in a row win the game.


Multi Player The student plays a bingo-like game against another student. The first student to fill his/her game card with five markers in a row wins the game.



Levels of Difficulty  

Red Level  -- Action Verbs
Blue Level -- Two-Word Verbs
Green Level -- Irregular Verbs
Purple Level -- Difficult Irregular Verbs
