Follow on Google News | Local Show Invites Artists Over Forty WorldwideChallenging the myth that cutting edge art is created only by young artists, a local art group – The Haggus Society -- is mounting its first show created by older artists, some from beyond U.S. borders.
By: The Haggus Society Haggus Society cofounder, Terri Lloyd states, “This isn’t necessarily the case. As I see it, the older artist actually has the courage, or lack of filters, to process and explore dangerous ideas. Perhaps this is why there isn’t the same support for the older artist, dangerous ideas. Which is exactly why we should be recognized and supported.” The show runs from Friday October 7 through October 9 with a silent auction and reception on Saturday October 8. Preview Friday, 10/7, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Silent auction and Reception Saturday, 10/8, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Closing Event Sunday, 10/9, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. The Glass Studio is located at 5052 York Boulevard, Highland Park (Los Angeles), CA 90042 For more information about this event and The Haggus Society: Terri Lloyd (323) 691-8565 http://thehaggussociety.wordpress.com/ email: info@thehaggussociety.org The Haggus Society is a non-profit and supportive feminist art collective specifically for women over the age of 40.
