2012 San Diego Spirits Festival June 30th July 1st

Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- We are currently accepting sponsors for the 2012 San Diego Spirits Festival – which will allow you to truly standout and touch a special niche group of consumers but also spirit brands.  We will reach a truly special demographic – the luxury spirits connoisseur, the foodie, local and national bartenders & restaurateurs and we will be shining the national spotlight on the exciting and emerging local cocktail scene. •A highly successful media/VIP welcome reception took place outdoors, on the back end of the Port Pavilion Pier– surrounded on three sides by the San Diego Bay;
•Sophie@103.7 presented a “Musical Cocktail” of six live California-Based bands, who played to the crowd on a grandstand against the end of the Pier, surrounded by the bay’s spectacular views.  Featured acts included:  JC Villafan, Kevin Martin, Skyler Stonestreet, The Darrows, Josh Damigo and Dominic Balli;
•The ULTIMATE Bartender Battle: Nine of the city’s most talented bartenders competed in front of an esteemed panel of industry judges; 1st Place Mike Yen
•An over the top, visually stimulating and high-spirited VIP “Burlesque Speakeasy” themed after-party, went into the wee hours on Saturday night;
•As an emerging market with a growing cocktail scene, the Festival served as the launch pad for a number of local and international spirit brands;
•Gaston Martinez, Daniel Undhammar and Mario Marquez were amongst the Notable Mixologists and Brand Ambassadors who were on site from far and wide displaying their talents via cocktail demos and discussions;
•The Pavilion was transformed into an array of booths, including a living tree by local entrepreneur Mark Scialdone with his brand new spirit Tempest, while Milagro and Tatra Tea chose a classic lounge feel with white couches;
•The forecourt was filled with over 40 artists from around the area – creating a lively “Mixology of Art” exhibition that will be repeated and grow with the festival next year.
