By: Callaway Gardens “We invite everyone to come out for some great golf on two great courses that benefit a great cause,” said Bob Sykora, tournament organizer and director of club operations for Callaway Gardens. This tournament celebrates the great spirit of Callaway Gardens’ founder, Cason J. Callaway, who believed that golf should be a pleasant experience in beautiful surroundings as well as introducing children to nature. The tournament on Lake View will be a yellow ball scramble; Mountain View’s tournament will be a “Dogfight,” Entry fee for a team is $850 and includes range balls, beverages, participant gifts, a pre-tournament luncheon and an exciting day of friendly competition. Corporate sponsorship packages are available at the Bronze ($2,500), Gold ($5,000) and Platinum ($7,500) levels. Proceeds from the event go to the day’s biggest winners: the students who receive the opportunity to experience the educational and horticultural programs of Callaway Gardens. In addition to a host of programs and initiatives, the not-for-profit foundation hosts more than 30,000 schoolchildren in the Gardens each year, provides internships for college students and supports Callaway Gardens’ acclaimed Birds of Prey program.
