Africa Pledges to Fight Hunger at Home

The African Union member countries pledged their support and contribution to the relief efforts for the millions of suffering people as a result of the extreme drought and famine conditions. The AU member countries pledged $350 million for aid and assistance in the drought-hit region.

Also in the news was about the state-owned Construction and Business Bank’s offer of long-term loan services for residential houses in Addis Ababa in September. The bank will open new branches in the capital to expand its services throughout the country.
